De Texas Klompendansers

De Texas Klompendansers have been a Dutch folk dance group in the Houston area since 1985.  They perform traditional Dutch dances wearing wooden shoes, and Dutch costumes representing several different provinces of The Netherlands.  The group formed so they could provide entertainment at the Houston Holland Festival, then were invited to perform at the Texas Folklife Festival.  They still perform at the Texas Folklife Festival in San Antonio, as well as many other events around Texas.  They've performed in Orange City and Pella Iowa at their Tulip festivals.  Sometimes, they are joined by Dutch Touch, Ross and Valina's Dutch folk duo.  They get together to practice their dances at the Harris County Precinct 3 Community Center on Wirt Road across from Kroger on most Monday evenings.
