Restessen is the hot new German/American slang for German restaurants in the US. The term was coined by Ross and Valina's then 3 year old niece. Restessens / Restaurants are fun places to be when Das Ist Lustig plays. Their first restaurant job was at the Friesenhaus during Oktoberfest and Wurstfest in New Braunfels in 2007. The cowbell choir has become quite popular there - people walking by on the street outside know who is in town performing when they hear other people talk about the cowbells they just got to play. They are always there on the two weekends during Wurstfest. Other restessens you can find them are every Thursday at King's Biergarten in Pearland, Texas, and periodically at Scotty and Friends in Round Top, Texas, Charivari in Houston, and sometimes even at Hofbrau Beer Garden in Panama City Beach, Florida. The food at each of these locations is excellent. The German beer and gemutlichkeit are always flowing.
